Anyone else itching to roll some dice?

Details

It seems that this group has all but shut down in the past few years, which is darn unfortunate as it used to be such an active group.

I am looking to hold a game for people, and myself, to get back into playing. I will be following season 7 rules for the most part, any questions feel free to ask. This game is as much for me to get back into DM'ing as it will be for players, and most importantly to meet players again to make connections and perhaps in time find a good blend of players for a longer campaign. I will provide the table with lvl 1 pre-gen characters for players to pick from and will be running modulars from the "Treasure of the Broken Hoard" DDAL05-01.

A little bit about my background, pre-Covid I had played D&D for a little more than 4 years and DM'd 3 of those years. I had a weekly table of 5/6 players that lived through an epic campaign (well, most lived through...) of Horde of the Dragon Queen and Rise of Tiamat and then started to play Out of the Abyss.

I view my role as DM to come with the overall story line well prepared and be able to adapt it to the decisions of the party. I found it quite frustrating as a player if the DM had not read through the modular before hand and the table had to wait on them to do so while we all just sat at the table; that does not foster fun and fast play as we/you are there to roll dice and make great character memories and not sit in boredom.

What I ask of players is to be engaged to the table and game. If you want to be the center of attention or be on your phone all the time, not focusing on the game and what other players are doing, that takes away from everyone's fun. My table isn't for you, I have no problem asking such players to leave my table.

A secondary bit about this table, as it seems somewhat prevalent on certain FB D&D pages, this table does not care about your vaccination status (that only affects you, no one else), it does not care if you feel your gender is relevant, and it does not care who you voted for. The past 2 years have isolated much of society and now people seem to have lost the skills to socialize with people anymore. For those who miss socializing with new people and making new friendships, I hope to foster some of that again on my tables. I'll judge you on the content of your character, not your color, creed, beliefs, or feelings.

Right now I am opening 5 spots on the table because that is a reasonable table size. If there are name on a waiting list, I will consider doing another table at a different time. It would be awesome to hear a bit about peoples desires out of playing so that I can try to incorporate some of those thoughts to make the game personal for you, so please leave a comment.
