A group called Secular Bible Study will be sponsoring an internet dialogue called Plurationalist Dialogue 307, "What Makes Religion So Successful?"

While religion has not been successful at proving that supernatural gods and other things exist, it has been successful at getting people to believe in them, or gathering together those who do believe.

This is the format for the meeting:

Round 1, First Thought: If you wish, briefly introduce yourself & your background or worldview, and take about 2 minutes to give us your first views on the topic.

Round 2, Open Dialogue: Raise your hand (or a virtual hand if you prefer to not share video), to be recognized by the moderator to speak or to ask a question.

Round 3, Last Thought: If you like, tell us your one word, sentence, or paragraph "Take-Home Point" that you learned about the topic, or that you want us to know.
