Update on Saturday, December 13. I’ve been sitting at this dock in Cape Coral ( Fort Myers) for about a week now. I have not left the dock. I have taken everything out of every locker for the first time ever. It is a mess on the deck, I pulled out all of the chain, about 200 feet, And some of it was so stuck together with mud I had to beat on the links with a hammer. Which caused a big chocolate mess. Dried mud and rust all over.
You can see in the drone shot that I am in a very protected lagoon. Completely surrounded by houses. Many of the houses have thatched roof, waterside bars. Hard to find in Minnesota this time of year.
In the drone photo with our boat, there is a big 50+ foot motor sailer two boats towards the top of the shot and a 50+ foot power boat two boats closer to the bottom of the photo. The power boat came from Stillwater down the Mississippi to St. Louis and then down the TenTom waterway to Mobile, Alabama and then across the Gulf to here. He is a retired Minnesota car dealer. The large sailboat closer to the top of the frame came from Guatemala this summer. I met the owners and they raved about Guatemala and how the workmanship is so good. They are always looking for crew to help them.
