Introduction to Quantum Computing with Quantinuum’s TKET

Details

Abstract:

Quantinuum, headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, stands as a global leader in quantum computing. With a presence in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, Washington, D.C., London, Oxford, Cambridge, and Tokyo, the company excels in offering integrated hardware and software solutions. Among its offerings is the open-source quantum software development kit, TKET. Distinguished for its state-of-the-art circuit compilation, optimization capabilities, and platform-agnostic development, TKET has carved a niche in the quantum realm.

In this workshop, attendees will delve into pytket, TKET's Python module, gaining insights into its extension modules tailored for seamless hardware and software integration. Utilizing TKET, we'll craft basic quantum circuits and perform measurements. To validate our circuit designs, classical simulators like the statevector simulator will be employed. A highlight of the session will be preparing a sample circuit for Quantinuum's trapped ion quantum computer. Integral to the learning experience, the workshop will incorporate hands-on coding exercises, allowing participants to actively run code within the following Google Colab Jupyter notebook: https://colab.research.google.com/drive/1mCwxzPlMcUbVyRv0x92N6he6cifPnQZR?usp=sharing

Speaker Bio:

Dr. Kathrin Spendier is a Quantum Evangelist at Quantinuum. In her role, she is deeply involved in fostering an understanding and enthusiasm for quantum computing, with a particular emphasis on promoting TKET, Quantinuum's open-source quantum software development kit (SDK). Holding a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of New Mexico, she previously served as an Associate Professor at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS). There, she conducted research in biophysical phenomena and condensed matter physics and taught numerous undergraduate and graduate physics courses.
