Epicurus: Letter to Menoeceus (Part 2)

For this meeting we'll wrap up our discussion of Epicureanism, one of the most influential philosophies of the ancient world. We're using one of the few extant writings by Epicurus, a letter to a student named Menoeceus. It contains classic themes of Epicureanism, especially on managing our pleasures and fears. We'll also have an introduction to Marcus Aurelius, the subject of our next series of meetings.
Outside reading is not required, but for those interested, a link to the letter is attached below. All are welcome, and newcomers are encouraged to check us out. Our format involves reading and conversing about the text, but you are always welcome to just listen.
