Thanksgiving: Giving Thanks to Our Members and Supporters!
Minnesota Atheists has been in existence since 1991. During that time a number of people have been recognized with awards for their contributions to the success of our group. Unfortunately, many more have not! At our November meeting we will begin to correct this oversight.
The Minnesota Atheists board of directors has compiled a list of about 20 people deserving of recognition. Unfortunately, this is too many for one meeting, so we hope half of them will be patient enough to wait for their awards until next year. (Excluded from this list are people who have already received an award in the past and also current board members.)
At our meeting (and in our subsequent newsletter) we will highlight each individual’s accomplishments and also hear from them directly about their experiences and memories. In this way we will not only honor their achievements but also learn more about the history of our organization.
We will also take time to remember atheist leaders in or from Minnesota who died this past year: Dick Hewetson, Paul Heffron, and Bill van Druten. In the future, we will remember other deceased atheist leaders of our state.
Please help support Minnesota Atheists by becoming a member or by making a donation
