Let's spend Saturday morning in the mountains!
We'll be hiking the Tecolote Trail in the Cibola National Forest, a shorter hike that packs quite a bit into just 2.5 miles.

The trail starts through the ponderosa pines and climbs for about the first half mile before leveling out. Along the way we'll pass a small cave that's believed to be the remains of an old mining claim, and at the top we'll make our way around a short loop with views of Tejano Canyon and the Sandia Peak Ski Area.

TRAIL DETAILS
🥾 Distance: 2.5 miles
⛰️ Elevation Gain: 321 feet
🟨 Difficulty: Moderate
🌲 Terrain: Forested and mostly shaded. It is rocky in some areas, with some uneven terrain
⏱️ Hiking Time: About 1.5–2 hours
💰 Cost: Free
🐕 Dogs: Welcome, but must remain on a leash

MEETING LOCATION
We'll meet at the Lazy Lizard Grill and caravan to the trail from there. Please arrive on time so we can get everyone together before heading out.
This is a nice trail for people who want to get outside without committing to a long hike. There is some uphill and rocky terrain, so come prepared with sturdy shoes, water, and layers for the cooler mountain temperatures.
We're not going out there to race. We're going to enjoy nature, enjoy the people we're with, and have a good Saturday morning in the mountains.

Adventure belongs to everyone.
