Details
Tashi Delek Friends, Supporters, and Sangha,
Registration for Mipham Shedra's 2025 Guhyagarbha Tantra Fall Retreat (December 13th & 14th, 9 am to 4 pm each day) is now open. For more details, registration, and to make your donation, visit https://miphamshedra.org/courses/guhyagarbha-retreat-fall-20205-2/
This retreat is only for practitioners who have already received the Guhyagarbha Tantra empowerment.
In the Dzogpachenpo tradition, the highest realization arises from the complete integration of three essential elements:
- Empowerment (Wang)
- Study (Lung/Tri)
- Practice (Gom)
These three must come together as one path.
***
Empowerment - Receiving the View of Great Purity and Great Evenness
When you received the Guhyagarbha Tantra empowerment, you were introduced to the profound View of Great Purity and Great Evenness. This empowerment opens the doorway to recognizing that the peaceful and wrathful deities are the natural radiance on one's own mind.
***
Study - Establishing Certainty Through Devotion and Reasoning
Study transforms devotion into unshakable certainty. Through studying the root tantra and commentary lineage - especially Longchen Rabjam and Tertรถn Mingyur Dorje - you establish the View with clarity and confidence.
As Jamgรถn Mipham Rinpoche stated in Essence of Clear Light, his commentary on the Guhyagarbha Tantra:
"When certainty in this View is fully established, one has achieved the stage of Non-Returning and is none other than Vajradhara."
This shows that genuine certainty in the View is itself a profound attainment.
***
Practice - Bringing the View Into Living Experience
With this confidence, practitioners can joyfully enter the retreat and apply the View in meditation:
โข Purity is practiced through the generation stage,
โข Evenness is practiced through the completion stage,
following the profound Shi-tro sadhana of Tertรถn Mingyur Dorje.
Through combining View and meditation, practitioners deepen their recognition of the peaceful and wrathful deities that self-liberate all who encounter them.
***
Retreat Format: In-Person and Zoom.
This retreat will be offered in two formats:
โข In-Person:
At Mipham Shedra Temple in Colorado for local students.
โข Zoom (Online):
For long-distance students who have received the empowerment and cannot attend in person.
***
Purpose of This Retreat:
Participants will:
โข Strengthen certainty in the View of Great Purity and Great Evenness,
โข Unite empowerment, study, and practice into one continuous path,
โข Receive guidance on Shi-tro generation and completion stages,
โข Understand the peaceful and wrathful deities more deeply,
โข Integrate Dzogpachenpo practice into daily life.
