Hi everybody!
I'm looking for writers! I've created a Medium publication dedicated to stories about the 100 best Albums, Movies, and Novels. If you enjoy this group and enjoy writing, please check it out here.
You have to be a member of Medium to participate. If you have any writer friends, please share it with them.
Album Club is at #14 on the list of best albums of all time and here's our first Rolling Stones album, Exile on Main Street. I have loved some Stones songs in my life.
Check out this description of the album by Richard Gehr of Rolling Stone: Richard Gehr "compares the album to outlaw music and observes a strong influence of music from the American South in its "loose-limbed" explorations of 1950s rock, African-American soul, and gospel country." Source.
The album includes Happy, with rare vocals from Keith Richards. It also includes Tumbling Dice, the album's lead single. Linda Ronstadt made a cover of it only 5 years later and her version made the Top 40.
Your mission: spend some time listening to this album over the next few days. Let it accompany you on walks or while you cook or clean or drive or while you get high and stare at the ceiling. Then join me to discuss your thoughts about it! This should be a fun one. :)
