🦃 Note that this event is on the Wednesday evening before Thanksgiving.

🍋 Coming in at #32 on the Top 100 is Beyoncé’s Lemonade.

Released in 2016, Lemonade is a genre-blending, emotionally charged journey through betrayal, anger, resilience, and ultimately, healing. It’s part R&B, part rock, part country, part gospel.

Across twelve tracks, she weaves together an intimate narrative of heartbreak and renewal while also confronting the legacy of race, gender, and power in America.

In this session, we’ll talk about:

  • How Lemonade redefined what a concept album could look like in the 21st century
  • The mix of genres and collaborators (Jack White, James Blake, Kendrick Lamar, and more) that fuel its power
  • The visual album and how it expands the story beyond sound
  • Why Lemonade resonated so deeply in 2016—and why it still does today

Spend some time with it, notice what moves you, and bring your thoughts. A 65-minute visual album is also available on YouTube.

Hope to see you there!
Peace ❤️
