Lee Metcalf Birding and Hiking

Join Brad and Andrea May at the Lee Metcalf Wildlife Refuge on
Saturday, October 5, 2019, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. We will set up our
scope along the main road near the headquarters for waterfowl viewing.
Depending on the abundance (or lack thereof) of migrating birds, we can
spend most of the time around the lake area or we can do some hiking at
the refuge.

Bring binoculars and a field guide, and a scope if you have one.

PLEASE NOTE: The wildlife office is not open on weekends, so toilet
facilities are limited to the permanent porta-potties that the mail
road passes before the road reaches the ponds.

At noon, we will head into Stevi to the Blacksmith Brewery and have
lunch. The brewery doesn't serve food, but there are several places nearby that offer carry-out. Or you can bring your own food.
