How do secular values show up in Montana politics — and what happens when they don't? As Christian nationalism gains ground in statehouses nationwide, even symbolic gestures reveal where the line between church and state is being tested. In the 2025 Legislative Session, a resolution was introduced asking the legislature to acknowledge "the Kingship of Jesus Christ."

We're sitting down with two of Missoula's own state representatives, Bob Carter (HD 96) and Zooey Zephyr (HD 95), for a conversation about secularism and the legislative process. They'll share what they've seen in the Montana House and take your questions.

Let's fill the room! Goodworks has space for 80 but chairs for only 25 so please bring your concert chairs along. If you're feeling generous, bring something to snack on. We love a good potluck spread.
