The hike selected for this trip is Blue Mountain Lookout, which appears to be a long trail on AllTrails, but the plan is to only hike the first 2.3 mi (4.6 total) with 900 ft of elevation gain, take in the views on top of a ridge at 5300 ft, then turn around and go back the way we came. The trail is rated as hard, but this section is not as hard as advertised! My friend Amber (as pictured) came out to visit recently and claimed this one was "easy"! The switchbacks are very mild and the trail does not get steep. The trail is also usually well maintained and easily visible.

Blue Mountain Lookout Trail on AllTrails

I have tons of extra gear if anyone needs to lend a pack or a trekking pole!

We'll meet at the Blue Mountain Lookout Trailhead at 6:00 PM or carpool from the Hwy 93 Walmart at 5:30, leaving for the trailhead soon after. We'll spend about 2-2.5 hrs total hiking.

At the top of the ridge, we'll rest for a while, eat snacks and drink a beverage, and enjoy the good scenery before turning around and going back the way we came!

Please make sure to bring your own:
- Lunch / Snacks
- 1 L of water
- Hand sanitizer and sanitary products
- Sunscreen
- Raincoat
- Mid weight warm/insulating layer
- Athletic or hiking shoes/boots
- Backpack
- Bear spray

I carry first aid and a Garmin gps. I'm also CPR and Wilderness First-Responder Certified.

Dogs and other pets are welcome!

If you have any questions, feel free to send me a message!
