BookClub: Book #1 - Designing Data-Intensive Applications
Details
The MissoulaTech crew has been asking for a bookclub so let's use our quarentime to read a highly recommended one,
"Designing Data-Intensive Applications: The Big Ideas Behind Reliable, Scalable, and Maintainable Systems" by Martin Kleppmann.
A great review *https://www.nurkiewicz.com/2019/02/designing-data-intensive-applications.html, and if I had it all my way, we would break our meetups into 4 pieces, meeting weekly(Tuesdays) for a month. However, because it's a little heady, let's try this and wrap it up in a month and a half:
Chapters 1-3 ------> passed!
Chapters 4-5 -----> passed!
Canceled May 26th
Chapters 6-7 ------> June 2
Chapters 8-9 ------> June 9
Chapters 10-12 ----> June 16
Each meeting we will follow this format:
Introductions - Name, What you do or like to do
Discuss - Depending on how many members we get, we will follow a pretty organic discussion about key takaways & highlights of each chapter
Closing - pulse check on what worked
READ 2 CHAPTERS A WEEK starting now :)
and then join this google meets meeting:
