What we’re about
My name is Amy, and I've been involved in St. Louis animal rescue for almost 5 years. In that time I've realized that Missouri is one of the worst states for animals, and this group is intended to improve their lives and enhance the social media network for animal lovers.
We will post about area animal rescues and their fundraisers, animal-related events, rescue & cruelty cases, peaceful protests, etc..
*** Vegans & non-vegans are equally welcome although this group will sometimes include vegan events because they're animal advocates.
*** I'd also like to add that this meetup group is *not* about political party---so it's not about bashing Trump/Hillary/Republicans/Democrats/unicorns/whether that dress is blue or white/etc.. ***
Regardless of who you vote for, Missouri animals need you to speak up on their behalf because *both* parties need to do far more to protect Missouri animals.
However, we *will* be posting information about Missouri animal legislation and related bills, as well as what legislators are sponsoring the bills, & which legislators we need to speak up to----but this will be because of the *stance* of these legislators, not their political party.
And if those legislators are members of your party, that's even better because your voice will therefore carry more weight! :)

We will also post animal-related legislative alerts. Please sign up at http://www.maal.org/ for legislative alerts that you can share & forward---Missouri animals desperately need advocacy since MO is #1 for problem puppy mills in the U.S. for several years running.

Please watch these Pages that are run by employees of Jefferson City Animal Control in order to network rescue & fosters for animals approaching their euthanasia date----and share the shit out of them!
