AI is everywhere but safe and robust AI Systems are hard to come by. In this talk the speaker presents some projects and related research into safe and secure AI Systems for safety critical applications. In particular we will talk about uncertainty quantification and first steps into the validation process for an AI use-case involving a reinforcement learning agent.

Markus is a research associate at the German Aerospace Center (DLR), specializing in AI safety and security. He holds a PhD in Mathematics from Friedrich-Schiller University Jena. Markus has an extensive academic background, including postdoctoral positions at the University of British Columbia and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and a research fellowship at SISSA in Italy. Recognized for his contributions to mathematics and AI, he received the prestigious AHP Prize in 2021 and participated in the 9th Heidelberg Laureate Forum.
