MEETING POINT
> Birling Gap - South Downs National Park Carpark (coordinates 50.742721,0.202838) at 12:00pm. Note: this is a national trust carpark so free if you’re a member otherwise this is pay and display. You can park along the side of the road just outside the carpark if you do not wish to park in the carpark.
FOOD Please bring a packed lunch and water
DISTANCE & DIFFICULTY
Distance: 9 miles. This is quite a hilly hike with amazing views along the way.
WHAT TO BRING
• Appropriate clothes & footwear - ideally walking shoes
• Water (1.5 litres)
• Lunch
Cliffs - danger
There are sheer drops off the cliffs and some of these soft chalk cliffs are crumbling at the edges with chunks regularly falling and no fencing in place.
Please keep at least 3 metres away from the edges. If you fall, or the ground at the edge of the cliff collapses, it will almost certainly be fatal.
Note: if you cannot attend, please remove your name from the participant list
Bringing dogs is NOT advised during this walk due to the fact we are walking close to the cliffs
FEE
Note: most walks are free but some of the longer hikes carry a small charge per person of £2. Please bring £2 with you on the day. This is because organisers pay a fee to keep the groups running through the app, and with various planning of activities we do incur expenses. Your contributions are much appreciated, thank you :)
