Dorset Jurassic coast weekend away: Coastal walk & countryside walk
Details
Day 1:
7-8 miles
Meet at the campsite on Toms Field Road, Langton Matravers, BH19 3HN at 10.30 am.
There is parking along the road and by the campsite.
Around 8-mile walk via Dancing Ledge, Durlston Castle, Swanage, Old Harry Rocks and into Studland.
We will take a bus back to Swanage where we will discuss dinner options. And then a bus or shared taxi back to the starting point.
Day 2:
5-6 miles
Meet at the Square and Compass pub at 10.30 am.
Address for the pub is Worth Matravers, BH19 3LF.
Parking is available in a carpark opposite the Square and Compass or along the road.
Around 6-mile walk via Hill Bottom, to Kingston village and down the hill to beautiful Corfe Castle. This is a village with various pubs and restaurants for dinner, stunning castle ruins on the hill and views of Purbeck Hills.
We will take a bus or shared taxi back to the starting point.
Level of difficulty:
Day 1 is an intermediate hike with some hill walking.
Day 2 will be on slighter flatter terrain.
What to bring:
Please wear good hiking shoes and thick socks
Waterproofs and warm outer layers
At least 1.5 litres of water
Snacks or/and a packed lunch
