Dorset Jurassic coast weekend away: 2-day coastal walks via Swanage (£10 fee)

Join me for 2 days of scenic coastal walks along the beautiful Jurassic coast of Dorset. We will walk at approximately 2.5-3 miles an hour, for 11 miles on Day 1 starting at Worth Matravers for a linear walk to Swanage and 6.5 miles on Day 2, for a circular walk from Swanage to Studland, and back to Swanage.

Day 1 (Saturday 18th April):

The walk is expected to take around 4.5-5 hours with stoppages.
Swanage is a bustling seaside town with various food options for us to choose from.
There are options of buses or shared taxis back to the starting point for anyone not staying in Swanage.
Day 2 (Sunday 19th April):
7 miles
Meet in front of Pier Head restaurant at 10 am.

Route will take us from Swanage via:
Old Harry Rocks
Studland
And back to Swanage
The walk is expected to take around 3 hours without stoppages (around 4 hours in total with a suggested drink stop around halfway).
The Banks Arms Inn Studland has a fabulous menu where I can book us a table after the first leg of our walk if you are interested or we can simply take a break for drinks. We will discuss.
We will discuss transport options to the starting point/where we are staying before travelling back.
Level of difficulty:
These are intermediate-level routes. A good level of fitness is required. Both days will involve hill walking and Day 1 will involve a segment with several steps to the top of the hill
What to bring:
Please wear good hiking shoes and thick socks
Waterproofs and warm outer layers
At least 1.5 litres of water for Day 1 and up to a litre for Day 2
Snacks or/and a packed lunch
Any necessary first aid for your comfort, eg band aids, paracetamol, savlon, blister plasters, etc.
Walking poles if you have them are helpful on steep hills for stability and to help reduce the impact on your joints, but they are not essential

Getting down there:
If you are interested in car shares or can offer a lift, please let me know and I’ll see what I can arrange. Note: at least two of us will be driving on Friday 17th April. I myself will be leaving around 4 pm. The journey to Swanage is approximately 3.5 hours from Milton Keynes.
