A moderate walk at a pace of ~2.6-3 miles an hour.
This is a lovely trail that takes us around Newport Pagnell at the northern end of Milton Keynes. The route features a mix of roads, tracks, and footpaths, so we will take extra care on the road walking sections and utilise the pavements and grass verges whenever possible.
We’ll begin by following the path alongside the River Ouzel through the Riverside Meadow, making our way to Tongwell Lake. Enjoy a pleasant stroll along the lake's edge, then follow a short section of the Grand Union Canal through Great Linford Park. After that, we’ll walk along the Railway Walk before heading around the Poets Estate and into the surrounding fields.
As we continue, we’ll pass several ponds and cross the River Great Ouse before returning to the car park, passing Lathbury along the way. Some paths may be muddy after rainfall, so it’s wise to come prepared with appropriate footwear.
Please bring up to a litre of water.
