Public Speaking in the Tech Community
From speaking at your first event, to telling captivating stories, to building beautiful slides - this interactive panel will answer all your questions about speaking at tech events. Featured on the panel are four experienced speakers: Dana Hart is a technical lead for an engineering team at Northwestern Mutual. She has over a decade of web development experience and is currently part of a forward-thinking team helping shape the company’s digital future. Steven Hicks is a long-time web development generalist with two years of solid speaking experience. Since discovering he loved public speaking in 2016, he’s given over 20 talks at local meetups, code camps, and conferences throughout the Midwest. Rachel Krause is a User Experience Specialist and a frequent speaker and workshop leader on all things UX. She has successfully overcome her fear of public speaking in the last few years and will be leading a workshop at her first national conference this summer. Joe Poeschl is the Program Director and Co-Founder of The Commons, a collaboration of 24 southeast Wisconsin colleges designed to get students thinking like entrepreneurs, building their professional networks and connected to great opportunities in our region. Bring your questions for the panel, or just come to listen. Either way, you’ll leave inspired to share your stories and expertise with an audience. A huge thanks goes out to RokkinCat for hosting and Centare for providing snacks and refreshments!
