Isn’t It Time We Fix Your Genome?: Gene Editing with MSOE's CBM

Details
We have been trying for many years to fix our defective proteins with drugs – but maybe we should just correct our DNA? Join MSOE’s Center for BioMolecular Modeling (CBM) for a discussion on modern editing technologies such as CRISPR and the ethical issues surrounding gene editing. Dr. Tim Herman, Director of the CBM, will cover background information on gene editing while using 3D models developed by CBM. This is a great opportunity to touch and interact with proteins, DNA, and other genetic materials while learning about their modern applications.
This event is open to any individual wanting to learn more about gene editing. No prerequisite knowledge is required outside of a desire to learn about gene editing.
This session is limited to the first 30 to register! We'll potentially be open up more spots if demand is high for the event. Soft drinks and snacks will be available!
