Hands-on: Getting started with Large Language Models (LLMs)
Details
Workshop Description
Large Language Models (LLMs) are powerful new tools that can be used to power a wide range of applications, from chatbots and virtual assistants to creative writing tools and code generators. With so many different LLMs available however, it can be difficult to know which one is right for your needs. This workshop will teach you everything you need to know about using LLMs to power your applications. We will:
- Evaluate the suitability of various LLMs for powering target applications
- Decompose a big idea into a set of specific and testable LLM tasks
- Craft effective prompts and evaluate them through automated tests
- Identify other components needed in delivering an LLM-powered application
Who Should Attend
The intended audience of this workshop is software developers, data scientists, product managers and other professionals who are interested in using LLMs to power their applications. No prior experience with LLMs is required. Some experience with git and Python is beneficial but not mandatory.
What You'll Learn about LLMs:
- How they work and what their capabilities and limitations are
- How to choose the right LLM for your target application
- How to break down a complex problem into smaller, more manageable tasks
- How to craft effective prompts
- How to automate the testing of LLM prompts
- Other components needed in delivering an LLM-powered application
Workshop Instructor
Oege Dijk is an experienced machine learning engineer who has been hands-on building LLM powered applications, from standard RAGs to fashion recommenders.
