🎤 From an idea to production: the journey of a recommendation engine.
Tatiana Al-Chueyr Martins, Principal Data Engineer at the BBC
In early 2019 the BBC decided to replace a third-party provider with in-house recommendation engines. There was a desire to use a hybrid collaborative filtering and content-based model to boost user engagement. Two years later, Xantus - how this recommendation engine was named, servers over 80 million personalised sets of recommendations every week. This talk aims to present the journey of bringing machine learning live, mainly using Open Source.
⏱️ 7.00pm
🎤 Converting to MLOps - How BenevolentAI moved to a centralized ML infrastructure, and lessons learned along the way.
Constantinos Neophytou, VP Engineering at BenevolentAI

I appreciate that some people are ready to meet in person again and others are not. It's important that nobody misses out so here's the plan...
The event will be Hybrid but with a limited number of in-person spaces. This is in line with the venue's health & safety policy and is to make sure everyone feels safe.
If you plan to attend in person, please indicate on your response to this event! For remote attendees, I will share the link here closer to the time.
