What we're about

MMD Philly is dedicated to mirror movement development (MMD) – a lifestyle practice that grows the brain and realigns the body through less-dominant side development and symmetric movements. Ideal for active people, creatives, athletes, intellectuals, self-improvement junkies, and those seeking physical rehabilitation.

How is MMD practiced? Through activities like walking, cycling, ball and disc sports, mirrored reading, writing, drawing, frontpacking, reversals, inversions, ambipedal longboarding, and more. Check out videos and blog posts at AmbiLife.org.

All are welcome, from the curious observer to beginners to advanced.

Joining the group means you're also OK with being photographed during sessions, events, and get-togethers - we always take photos: for the memories and group promotion (we can't always accommodate a 'no photo' request)

We are not a networking group and do not tolerate solicitation of members. We welcome anyone of any gender, race or nationality. Minors are welcome if accompanied by an adult (although some activities may end with going out to a bar, in which case 21+ only by that point). If you want to bring a dog, please contact the event organizer first...sometimes they are OK and sometimes not.

Young Da Vinci Club - Fitler Square

Fitler Square

*WEATHER PERMITTING. Will cancel for rain.

First session will be 11 AM at Fitler Square.

Event details from https://ambilife.org/youngdavinci/

Science is starting to understand some cool stuff about the benefits of mirror reading! In fact, general mirror movement development (MMD) aligns the brain and body to increase balance, memory, athleticism, creativity, and burn calories. Both adults and kids can do it too!

Leonardo da Vinci and Benjamin Franklin practiced MMD since youth. Da Vinci was a mirror writer for 50 years (since his teens) and Franklin mirror read at work for 30 years, from age 12 to 42. Franklin’s essay, A Petition of the Left Hand, likely inspired Thomas Jefferson to continue practicing dual-dominance after an initial need for rehabilitation. Other practitioners include Lebron James, Cristiano Ronaldo, Rodney Mullen, Messi, Mickey Mantle, Gordie Howe, Houdini, Hippocrates, Queen Victoria, Tesla, Hendrix, Mozart, and Italian Renaissance men, like Michelangelo, Raphael, and Dante.

In this family-friendly, 1-hour free event, kids learn and practice cool exercises from MMD in chalk art, reading, and ball/disc play.

Looking forward to the fun on Saturdays, June 10th and 24th, 2023!
