Saturday afternoon is forecasted to be hot and stormy, so let's beat both of them by getting an early start!

If you have only visited Savage Mill to grab coffee or go antiquing, you have been missing out! There is a delightful (but rocky) path along the Little Patuxent River that takes us past Savage Falls, which might be impressive, considering this week's rain. Just past that, we can enter the ruins of the mechanical rooms in the underbelly of the original mill, where there are still boilers and a turbine (and lots of creative graffiti). After taking stock of the artwork, we will head back along the path we came, towards the parking lot.

Total distance is about 3 miles, and while there is only a single moderate decline (start) and incline (end), the path is quite rocky. Bring real hiking shoes! We should be wrapped up around 11, which means we can go grab a coffee or pastry at Roggenart and eat in the shaded part of the Mill's courtyard.

Be sure to park in the UPPER MAIN LOT of the mill. Look at the map! We will do quick introductions and start promptly at 9:30.
