Hike Lake Needwood - Hilly 2.6 Miles

Lake Needwood is a delightful little oasis less than 2 miles from the Shady Grove metro station and the bustle of Rockville Pike. The loop is just the right size for an end-of-week evening hike.
We will meet by the kayak rental building and boat ramp, which is at the 5 o'clock position of the lake. There is a parking lot less than 200 ft away. We will do brief introductions promptly at 6:15 and begin a clockwise tour around the lake. The trail is mostly gravel or packed mulch, though paved for a few segments are paved. It is only 2.6 miles but there are several sizable hills throughout the loop.
