OUR UPCOMING GUEST SPEAKER AND TOPIC:

Develop Your Brand To Market Yourself with a Purpose & Have Success working with Recruiters
with: Tom Colosimo

Why do people struggle when applying for jobs and engaging with recruiters? Why is it that people get so frustrated with recruiters due to not hearing back from them or generally annoying interpersonal communications?

Why does it seem so frustrating to understand the recruiter's perspective and motives of job hiring and what it is that they really want to see from you that would make you the candidate of choice? They are the 'gate keeper' for jobs but at times seem to be more of a 'road block to opening the door'. The ultimate goal is to land a job of your choice but understanding and using the best strategies on how to unlock the door by how to engage with the recruiter is the key.

In this work session, we will uncover why there seems to be a stigma related to recruiters and how to work through these perceived barriers for a successful job placement. We will cover how we as candidates must brand ourselves and develop a clear focused for what we want in a job or career and to convey that effectively to recruiters for their understanding. We will also cover the different types of recruiters and the focuses they have within different segments of the marketplace and types of jobs they manage for placements. Finally, we will do some practice exercises using 'role playing' situations to help work through the elements of engaging with third party and/or corporate recruiters.
