Details
From 9:30 AM to 10:00 AM we discuss RANDOM BITS where anybody can bring information to the group that might be useful or important when considering the future. Then the presentation starts at 10 AM and lasts until noon. There is usually some time for discussion.
Water Power. This is the fourth of a series of presentations on sources of electrical power and their future use. Previous presentations considered coal, nuclear and wind.
Energy can be generated from water in many ways:
· Run of the river
· Dam reservoirs
· Pumped reservoirs
· Tides
· Waves (surface and underwater)
· Rain
For each of these modes we will look at the current state of development and use plus current plans for further development. We will also look at possibilities for the future, considering the effects of other forces such as climate change.
