Bike and Tour Community Gardens and Historic Pink Bike Bridge

Meeting location:
The Market at Malcolm Yards, 501 30th Ave SE, two blocks north of Fresh Thyme on University Ave, Minneapolis, Minnesota

Park or bike to location, Free parking, Meet in the front patio by the colorful outdoor furniture. I have a bright blue helmet and a grey Specialized bike for identification. Recommend bringing a bike lock.

Biking Tour of Community Gardens off the University of Minnesota Transit Way and view of the Minneapolis Skyline and Lower St Anthony Falls.

Explore the Community gardens and amazing view of the Minneapolis skyline and lower St. Anthony Falls. First, bike to the Bridal Veil gardens and walk through and enjoy a tour with Marya Hart. Then bike to the St Anthony Community Gardens for a second community garden tour. Finish the tour biking from the Transit Way of University of Minnesota to the Pink Bike Bridge across the Mississippi River with close up view of the St. Anthony Lower Falls and Minneapolis Skyline and returning to Market at Malcolm Yard. This is a unique tour to bike on a bridge that is so historically classic and not well known.

Safety first and gear needed:
Everyone needs to have safe biking shoes, water bottle and helmet. We will stay on bike trails and stop for all traffic lights and stop signs. Make sure you bring a bike lock and are prepared to bike at moderate speeds when biking to the Bike bridge on the Mississippi River and back.

Optional Lunch and Refreshments:
Market at Malcolm Yards on outside patio. Please bring your driver's license and credit card if you plan to have lunch. They require a driver’s license to check in for any food or beverage. Of course, you can bring your water bottle and simple snacks to join us in the post lunch.

Bike Rating:
Easy to moderate. Mostly paved, Some softer gravel area for a short distance. Pace 8 to 10 miles an hour with stops to walk around the gardens.
