Conditioning Hike - Whitewater State Park

Details

Looking for a challenging hike to improve your conditioning? Look no further. Join us for at 7-9 mile hike at beautiful Whitewater State Park. This park, in the un-glaciated driftless area, is known for its diverse ecosystems, dramatic landscapes, and lack of mosquitoes.

Bring water and a lunch you can carry with you and dress for the weather.

THE HIKE BEGINS AT WHITEWATER AT 9:30AM.

This location is approximately 2 hours drive from the Twin Cities. Give yourself sufficient travel time to arrive before the hike starts at 9:30am.

The park website includes the following note for Google Map Users
“Google maps is currently taking visitors from the Twin Cities and Rochester down some gravel township roads in Olmstead county. Suggested alternate route: On Hwy 52 S, take exit 68 (Plainview exit in Oronoco). Stay on this road for 20 miles. In Plainview, take a right on County Rd 4 and go for 5.5 miles. Turn left on County Rd 2 and go for 5.5 miles. Turn right onto Hwy 74.”

The meeting location for this hike is the south parking lot of the park. It's the lot with the Gift Shop / Nature Store in it. Here's a map of the park to help you find your way once you arrive. https://files.dnr.state.mn.us/maps/state_parks/spk00280.pdf

We'll be out all day so check the weather. Bring your rain gear if there is any chance it might rain.

Message me if you have any questions.
