What we’re about
The Minnesota Ski Hawks is a non-profit Sports and Social Club. We sponsor events, trips and meet-up nights throughout the year. We’re based in the Twin Cities and currently have approximately 150 members made up of both singles and couples ranging in age from the mid-20’s all the way to the 70's..
The purpose of Minnesota Ski Hawks Meet Up Group is to have fun and to get to know prospective club members. We keep our paid club members of informed on upcoming trips, meetups and other events. While many events are open to non-members, our ski trips are for members of Ski Hawks and Minnesota Ski Council affiliated ski clubs only. Great BBQ and Happy Hour at Pittie Q BBQ located in the B-Dale Club in Roseville.
### How The Fire Was Lit
In 2019, inspired by BBQ Pitmasters, Troy joined his first BBQ competition with a bowling buddy as “TC BBQ.” But when his friend had a last-minute emergency, Troy called his wife, Jen, for help. Despite the chaos, they placed 7th in chicken and were hooked. Inspired by their love for Pit Bulls, they rebranded as “Pittie Q BBQ.”
Over four years, Pittie Q dominated the Backyard Division with multiple wins before advancing to the Master Series in 2023, achieving even greater success, including a Grand Championship and a perfect Turkey score.### When Two Worlds Collide
Pittie Q’s journey deepened at the 2019 LIVIN Music Festival’s BBQ competition. A festival supporting mental health awareness and suicide prevention. After Jen’s best friend, LB, tragically passed in 2020, the festival took on greater meaning. By 2023, Troy and Jen began running the event, forging a partnership with LIVIN founder Paul Thomas, who helped them launch Pittie Q BBQ’s first location at the B-Dale Club in December 2023.

Join the SkiHawks on the East Side of St. Paul at the Yoerg Brewery for Octoberfest. The Yoerg Brewery has been a long time SkiHawks favorite.
The Yoerg Brewery name dates to 1848 when it was founded and began brewing Bavarian style beer. The caves on the West Side of St. Paul were used for natural aging. Yoerg was brewed in St. Paul until 1952 when the brewery was destroyed by the historic floods of that year. You can't go back to 1848, but you can still taste the beer because the resurrected Yoerg is still brewing it today.
Besides the original Yoerg brew, the owners of the Yoerg Brewery rotate old European classics from Germany, Austria and Belgium, as well as beers brewed by Trappist monks in the US. Yoerg's website boasts over 50 beers in stock with more on the way. Check it out. September is the beginning of Octoberfest in Germany. Yoerg will have Octoberfest beers for us to enjoy.
If you are not a beer drinker, there is a great selection of European and domestic wines that you are sure to enjoy.
Food is available from a tasty menu of unique, locally sourced German sausages, European styled charcuterie & cheese plates, local gourmet pizzas and more.
The brewery is a cozy place with character. It has expanded, and their new gathering room will be open for us.
Street parking may be a bit tight. However, Metro State U's parking ramp is just across the street.
You do not have to be a rostered SkiHawk to attend this event. However, you may wat to consider it, as the SkiHawks are more than just a Meetup group. To find out more about the SkiHawks, visit our website.
