++ Kaimai adventure to Motutapere Hut
Details
This event is the DAY HIKE - Kaimai adventure to Motutapere Hut. It runs parallel to the overnight event and we will spend 3/4 of the day together.
On Saturday we will embark on day trip where you will discover some true challenges of the Kaimai Mamaku Range.
We will walk Tuahu Track West (current alerts regarding slip) up to North South Track then head south from the junction along the undulating spine of Kaimai where you will encounter magic, physical and mental challenges and ultimately our lunch spot at Motutapere Hut. I expect this to take 4+ hours. After lunch, we will back track the same arduous terrain and continue on to the NS junction and return to the car park along Tuahu Track West.

WATER
If you have the ability to treat water, there may be water available at Motutapere Hut but this is not guaranteed. Hydration is critically important on a long day.
I suggest that attendees stay local to the event at least one of the nights before or after the event.
The cost for this hike is $5.
Please prepay online Moa Outdoors new bank details. I can't accept cash payments on this one.

HOUSEKEEPING
CAR POOLING:
We suggest passengers pay drivers $50 return for this one. Please comment if you can offer or need a ride. Filling up cars to comfortable level is better for petrol use and parking at the trail end.
Because Moa is a small and friendly group, it’s super easy to carpool with us. Our driver members are very happy to bring new people along. Post in the comment area below if you need a lift, include your area and a phone number. The willing driver member will contact you. As organisers, we will also monitor and help out. Please be organised and on time for collection, dont withdraw last minute. Please also don’t expect the driver to go out of their way to collect you. You might have to get to a nearby location on their route.
