Hi all:
In the Matariki weekend (Saturday), we are going to the Farm & Coastal Walk at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park. It has lots of mostly opened farmland following good trails down to the Kaipara Harbor and then a tidal beach ....as we begin walking to our lunch spot that has toilets and Coastal views.
✨ DURATION: about 4 hours hike, including stops
✨ DISTANCE: about 9 km
✨ SPEED: easy
✨ DIFFICULTY: 1.5 on our 1-5 scale (easy).
✨ Toilets: Yes - Only at the start.
✨ HIKE DETAILS:
- Starting from carpark [P], walk on Orange and red trail road till kaipara Beach.
- We will leave approximately 45 - 60 mins for lunch on the beach.
- Go back Red Trail Road back to carpark.

✨ REQUIREMENTS TO ATTEND:
- To help simplify things, to attend this meetup you need to:
-- Be a member of Moa Social Hikings Group and signed up on Going list before RSVPs close 23:00 Friday.
-- Complete hike to the carpark with group.
✨ MEETING PLACES:
- Te Rau Puriri Regional Park, 2911 South Head Road, South Head 0874
✨ TRANSPORT AND CARPOOLING:
- Add your area where you live and mobile number. Contact each other and leave earlier to arrive on time ($20/person recommended to pay for driver).
✨ TIME GUIDELINE:
- 11:00 - Good time to arrive at Te Rau Puriri Regional Park carpark, meet & greet;
- 11:15 - Latest time to arrive at the carpark;
- 11:20 - Introductions;
- 11:30 - Start hike;
- 12:30 - lunch at the beach (optional to wander on the beach);
- 13:30 - leave the beach and start to walk back to the car park;
- 14:30 - Approx end hike;

✨ BRING:
- ENOUGH Drinking water;
- Lunch + additional snack food;
- Footwear suitable for good quality tramping tracks;
- Clothing suitable for winter;
- Rain and sun protection;
- Bags for wet & dirty footwear & clothing;
- Additional clean clothing & footwear to change into after hike
- First-aid items (at least for cuts and scratches);
- If you're interested in attending Hot Pools afterwards, bring a change of clothes and shoes, and another smaller bag, togs and towels.
✨ HOT POOL options:
- Option afterwards to visit the Hot Indoor Pools and Outdoor Slides at Parakai nearby in Hellensville;
- $35/person if you walk in, or buy your ticket EARLY at grabone ( recommended ).
