PhotoWalk to Heritage Village in Largo

Today we’re traveling to Heritage Village in Largo. Heritage Village has dozens of historic building from Pinellas County and a few from surrounding counties. The General Store (pictured above) is a special favorite with the old Ford (pictured above) and a real general store with many historic pieces, Included in the building is the old Post Office and much more. Many of the building are open, such as the old Chapel and House with 7 Gables.

The walking is easy with lined paths through much of the area. The Village opens at 10 AM and we’ll head in at that time. Restrooms, vending machines and drinking fountain are all at the entrance so be sure to stock up or bring your own beverages and snacks. There will be an optional social lunch afterwards for those interested.

If this is your first PhotoWalk with us, wear comfortable walking shoes. Open toe shoes or sandals are generally not a good choice. Insect repellent is always wise this time of year.

Bring whatever photo gear you’re comfortable carrying. Tripods are handy inside the buildings, but not necessary for great images. There is plenty of time to explore on your own and the group generally splits up as members photograph what interests them. We will try to get together at a meeting point around noon to discuss lunch and answer any other questions.

In the event of rain, the event is cancelled due to the outdoor nature of the PhotoWalk. A cancellation notice will be posted in the main page of our Meetup group at least 2 hours before the event. You will also receive an email notification from Meetup at the time the cancellation notification is posted. It’s not necessary to change your RSVP.
