About us
Moccasin Lake Nature Park opened in 1982. We are open from 10am to 5pm, Tuesday through Sunday. We are closed Mondays and most holidays.
We are always looking for volunteers (or just interested people to visit) who would like to make the Moccasin Lake Nature Park a better place for locals and guests of the City of Clearwater. We have beautiful trails, a small zoological collection of birds of prey, a pollinator garden, a nature center, picnic pavilion, garden lodge and some INCREDIBLE programs. The Clearwater Audubon Society, Pinellas Native Plant Society, The Florida Herb Society, Suncoast Herpetological Society, Hukyu Bonsai Society, Friends in Focus Photography Club and the Safety Harbor Garden Club all meet at the park. The Suncoast Herpetological Society is a non-profit, educational, and recreational club for people interested in reptiles and amphibians with an emphasis on responsible husbandry & captive breeding. The Suncoast Herpetological Society provides educational talks to Pinellas County residents as well as the surrounding counties and communities. Each month a speaker discusses a herpetological topic at the meeting, and he or she goes into the community giving talks at libraries, schools and environmental education centers. www.kingsnake.com/suncoastherpsociety
