Make it Accessible

Summary
In this session we will talk about:
• accessibility standards for websites
• conducting usability tests with people who use assistive technology
• how to schedule accessibility testing into the product lifecycle

Bio
Nina Amato is a user experience designer, an interface designer, and a former front-end developer. She has worked with multiple government agencies and with over a dozen nonprofit organizations, coding accessible interfaces, designing interfaces, and conducting research with users. Nina is currently the Lead User Experience Designer for the Publications’ Digital Strategy Team at the American Chemical Society.

Nina has trained development teams and she taught the Coding for Accessibility workshop at DC Web Women’s 2017 Code(Her) Conference.
