Las Conchas With Extension

Join us for a day of hiking in the Jamez mountains on the Las Conchas Trail .
Length: 3.6 miles....Difficulty: Easy-Moderate....Elevation gain: 181 ft

The Las Conchas Trail follows along the East fork of the Jamez river for about one and a half miles. AT this point, we will decide whether or not to leave the river trail and head north over a low pass to get to Cajete canyon. This second phase would be strictly exploratory, off trail and potentially rough. The total altitude gain for the entire hike will be about 180 ft, unless we decide to hike up to El Cajete it's self. (That would add another 250 ft and another mile to the trip.)
Wear good hiking boots. Bring poles, hat, sunscreen, plenty of water and Lunch.
