Farmington Badlands - three spectacular hikes

This is an over-night trip to the spectacular badlands south of Farmington to finish what was left over from our last trip and to explore some new areas.

We will visit Valley of Dreams east, Ah-Shi-Sle-Pah trail, and De-Na-Zin wilderness. The last two are routes from Alltrails but I like to wander. Hikes will be less than 6 miles with
minimal elevation change.

I would like to visit Valley of Dreams late in the day when photography is best so we may be getting into Farmington after dark.

Hiking will be in arroyos, wandering around rock formations, and in open off-trail terrain. There may be some scrambling into and out of arroyos and hiking across sandstone. I haven’t hiked the Alltrails routes so we will all work together in figuring out where to go. Trekking poles may come in handy.

I prefer to have high clearance 4wd vehicles as road conditions are hard to predict going to the Valley of Dreams. Everyone will be placed on the waiting list and preference will be given to those with the required vehicle and have proven they show up for hikes. This trip is limited to 12 people.
