This is a very nice walk into a valley adjacent to Chicoma Mountain near the headwaters of the Rio del Oso. We will see ruins of an adobe Schoolhouse, other adobe Houses, and several log cabins. We will meet at the Tesuque casino at 9 AM and carpool to the trailhead. The round trip mileage is 82 miles, 33 of which is on forest road 144. Plan to offer your driver $8.00 for gas. Wear good hiking boots. Bring poles, hat, sunscreen, Water and lunch or snakes. Dogs on leash are welcome.
