A leisurely walk on a good trail

The Santa Barbara trailhead is located south of the village of Penasco on the northern boundary of the Pecos Wilderness. The trail leads us along the Rio Santa Barbara through lush meadows and aspen groves typically laden with a variety of wildflowers. This leisurely hike ends at the West Fork - Middle Fork trail junction where we will have lunch as we look up the West Fork leading up to the Truchas Peaks.

Any vehicle can make it to the trailhead. Please pay your driver $5.
