Following our meetup on content delivery platforms, we're excited to announce a session with Kickstarter's Journalism Outreach Lead, Nicole He.

Usually based at Kickstarter's HQ in Brooklyn, Nicole will be speaking about crowdfunding as a business model and the site's dedicated journalism section, offering advice on how to launch a successful campaign.

This is a free event, but we have a limited capacity (~50) - so please register, and make sure to update your attendance if you can no longer make it so somebody else can take your place.

We've booked the upstairs room in the Bell Pub, near Aldgate East - it's easy to find, and there will be a cash bar.

About Modern Journalism London

We set up Modern Journalism London as a group for journalists and publishing professionals as a reaction to the mostly paid-for events run by big organisations.

We believe that there's lots of experience in London that isn't shared, but we couldn't find a forum to talk about it. We want this group to be inclusive and modern - rather than focusing on the journalism of the past, we want to focus on where we're going, and how we need to adapt to produce great content in a rapidly changing industry.

We encourage all kinds of journalists to join - magazine, newspaper or digital - staff or freelance - writing, editing, production or art. We want to foster an inclusive and equal forum to share ideas and skills.
