This month we will be reading "Thinking, Fast and Slow" by the Novel Laureate Daniel Kahneman. It is widely recognized as the definitive book for a heuristical approach to the brain, along with its biases and imperfections. Plus, it's a breezy and enjoyable read.
The book is a long one. Luckily, each of the five parts can be read standalone. This meeting will only cover the first two parts (about 200 pages). We may or may not finish the remainder of the book. Like most popular non-fiction books, the most essential tidbits are at the beginning anyway. I'll open a vote with the attendees.
For those of you who Google everything beforehand, yes, this books has some faulty studies, IE their conclusions were unable to be reproduced. However, most of the concepts he explains are still accepted by the scientific community, and even those that are wrong make for interesting conversation topics.
We look forward to seeing you there... and happy reading!
