Software Quality in the Cloud

Details

IT is changing more rapidly every day. Companies are moving to the cloud, adopting DevOps or taking their first steps with progressive delivery. In this ever-moving world, it is important to be able to cope with these changing circumstances.

In this meetup we will look at how the field of software quality is changing. What new challenges arise and how some of us are dealing with these changes in their day-to-day practice.

We will discuss the shift software testers are making from information providers to quality accelerants. New developments such as the Modern Testing principles and progressive delivery will shape what our work looks like in the future.

Nowadays everyone does Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Every engineer tests his or her application code. But somehow we do not test our infrastructure code. Edze Knol will explain why you should test your IaC and he will show you how to do this by demoing some code examples.

Do you have untested scripts running in your pipeline? Joost van Wollingen will show that you can even test the glue code for your deployment scripts. With examples based on Pester and Powershell he will show how and why you’d want to do this.

Erik Swets talks us through the different models you can use to set up your DevOps teams for success. Should there be a single platform team? A platform guild? Or do all team members contribute equally?
