### Beethoven at the Kennedy Center
An Evening of Light, Sound, and Friendship
This time, Modernist DC goes symphonic.
Join us for an unforgettable evening at the Kennedy Center, where the National Symphony Orchestra performs two of Beethoven’s most electrifying works: the legendary Egmont Overture and the majestic Symphony No.7.
We’ll meet at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, October 16, about 90 minutes before the concert begins at 7:00 PM. Together, we’ll stroll through the open terraces and riverfront spaces of the Kennedy Center — a modern masterpiece where architecture, light, and sound merge beautifully. It’s our moment to unwind, chat, and simply enjoy being together before the music begins.
Beethoven’s Egmont Overture is pure drama — a magnificent and heroic piece filled with passion and defiance, leading to one of the most triumphant endings ever written. Then comes the Seventh Symphony — energetic, rhythmic, and deeply human — described by Wagner as “the apotheosis of the dance.”

For those heading home by Metro, the Kennedy Center provides a free shuttle bus to and from the Foggy Bottom Metro Station.
Additionally, I can personally offer a ride for up to five people back to the Metro station right after the concert.
