Pacheco State Park Hike and BBQ
Details
Let's do a hike at Spikes Peak and Pig Pond Trail at Pacheco State Park followed by barbecue.
Pacheco State Park features the Spikes Peak Loop, which offers a moderate hike with scenic views, including the San Luis Reservoir and surrounding peaks. The trail transitions into the shadier Canyon Loop Trail and then the Pig Pond Trail, where hikers can enjoy beautiful woodlands and blooming buckeyes in spring.
The trail heads straight out and does a small loop at the end then comes back so if you reach your limit before the loop, you can head back to the parking lot. I'll include a picture of the map.
After the hike, let's have lunch at Hot City BBQ. If you want to join us just for lunch, we are hoping to get there around 11:30.
As with any hike, be prepared! Bring plenty of water, sunscreen, sturdy shoes, and I always bring a sunhat.
Parking is $10 and gas is outrageous, so let's plan some carpools in rhe comments.
