Yoga Sūtra Study Group: Exploring Patañjali’s Eightfold Path

Join us for an eight-week journey into the heart of classical yoga through The Yoga Sūtras of Patañjali, the timeless text that reveals yoga as a complete path of self-mastery and inner freedom. Together, we’ll explore how Patañjali’s Aṣṭāṅga Yoga—the eight-limbed path—offers a living framework for cultivating clarity, steadiness, and inner peace. Each week we’ll study key sūtras through chanting, translation, and discussion, and integrate simple practices of meditation, breathwork, and self-inquiry to bring these teachings into direct experience.

Over the course, we’ll reflect on yama and niyama, the foundations of harmonious living and self-discipline; refine the body and breath through āsana and prāṇāyāma; and explore the inner journey of pratyāhāra, dhāraṇā, dhyāna, and samādhi—the higher stages of concentration, meditation, and absorption that lead to the stillness of mind. Sanskrit terms will be introduced with clarity and care, inviting both beginners and experienced practitioners into the philosophical depth of yoga.

This study group is open to all levels and backgrounds and can be attended either in the studio or online via Zoom. Each meeting offers space for reflection, dialogue, and shared insight. Together we cultivate satsanga—a community of sincere seekers—committed to realizing how Patañjali’s ancient wisdom can awaken steadiness, compassion, and awareness in everyday life.
