This is a quick note from the group owners, to let you know that we'll be closing this group at the end of September.
When Momentum Wellington and it's predecessor Wellington Wonders were created, Meetup was a very different place. There were less than a half dozen Meetup groups based in Wellington, and the concept of using the internet to network with strangers with shared interests was relatively new. Now, there are groups catering to a huge range of interests, lifestyles and hobbies, and we feel that Momentum as a general-interest group has run its course.
We've had some fun times, and we'd like to thank everyone who participated in events and contributed to the good memories we have of hosting this group. We hope you will all continue to explore Meetup and enjoy all it has to offer.
Come and have some fun at The Old Bailey's quiz night. You don't have to be clever or all-knowing, just happy to join in the fun. Although you'll be surprised at what you do know and, although there are bar tabs to be won, we go along for the fun of it. If we are not placed our favourite position is 'not last!'
The quiz starts at 6.30pm so we'll meet by 6pm so we can get settled with drinks and/or food before the quiz starts. Then we put our mobile phones away till the quiz is over (so it is clear we are not cheating) and enjoy the fun.
'The Pen Principle': There are 8 rounds and everyone gets a turn at writing the answers for a round. We can all suggest answers but the person with the pen makes the decision on what to put for our answer. We've found this works well as sometimes people don't speak up and are not heard until they say "but I said that!"
We have table 15 booked in the name 'The Quiz Momentous'. We're well known to the bar staff so, if you can't find us, ask the staff where table 14 is or where the Quiz Momentous team are.
This is a fun event the group have done in the past. We take a leisurely stroll and enjoy the lights and the views.
Explore Te Whiti Riser in twilight and after dark. See the sun set over the harbour, enjoy hot chocolate and return through stunning, spot-lit New Zealand bush. BYO torch, koha sausage sizzle at the finish raising funds for Te Omanga Hospice
It's approximately an hour to the top at a moderate pace, but remember it may take longer as there's a lot of sights to see! There are lights and decorations on trail, but you'll need your own torch.
This will be going ahead if it's a bit drizzly, but if a storm comes in this event will be postponed to Friday 5 October
