What we’re about
Welcome to Downers Grove Area Moms & Families! We are a group of parents, grandparents, caregivers with newborn through early grade school-age children looking for advice and support as we share in the joys of motherhood. Although we come from different backgrounds and different experiences, what we do have in common is the desire to find opportunities to promote communication and socialization skills among our children. And certainly, we want to have fun in the process!
Our moms come from all over the Chicagoland area including the towns of Downers Grove, Lisle, Lombard, Oak Brook, Bolingbrook, Westmont, Woodridge, Wheaton, Naperville and everywhere in-between. Group members come together to have fun, learn from one another and develop lasting friendships.
Our meetups include park playdates, stroller walks, Moms' Night Out, charity events, community service events, playdates at members' homes, as well as events at indoor play areas, zoos, libraries and museums. We have both age-based and mixed playgroups for our members which are not only a great way for your children to make new friends, but for you to meet other moms going through the same things as you.
We absolutely want our members to be involved and contribute their many talents in order to make this as positive an experience as possible. We firmly believe that you take out of this what you put into it and welcome ideas from all our members. This group is for ACTIVE members only. If you're only looking for an group of online friends, and don't plan on getting out and getting involved, this is not the place for you.
