About us

The Monday Night Irish Set Dance group meets weekly to learn and practice Irish set dances. These are akin to American square dancing, but use different moves and are set to Celtic jigs and reels, of course!

Although there is a bit of footwork, it is not Riverdance! Really anyone can set dance. So no experience is necessary. And no partner is required- we'll match you up.

We meet for about 2 hours and go through about 4 dances. It's very informal; there is no curriculum or levels. We just dance and learn as we go.

We are fortunate to be under the direction of Angela Bontje, a skilled dancer with much experience. She is great a working with beginners.

If you join us you, will get a taste of Irish culture, hang out with great people, and get heart-healthy aerobic exercise.

We will meet for the first class of the season on September 21.

The hall is the Russian Cathedral Church hall at 823 Manning Ave. It's the door just north of the church.
